Break away from daily commitments & distractions and kickstart your writing project!
A remote unfamiliar location is best for a writing retreat: it disrupts the usual (unproductive) routines and opens a window for sustainable change. However, a writing retreat can also be conducted at participants’ institution.
Protected writing time and a group dedicated to a shared goal create optimal conditions for focused work with fast progress.
Short input sessions introduce new tools and strategies that can be tried out immediately.
One-on-one consultations and text feedback provide help with individual issues.
There is also time to reflect about own writing habits and create a plan for a better writing productivity after the retreat.
Program
Main elements of a productive writing retreat:
- structured writing time with regular breaks and the possibility to work according to the Pomodoro technique
- mini-workshops and discussions on topics according to participants’ needs
- individual consultations with text feedback for all participants
- yoga sessions with the trainer [optional]

Great balanced program of writing, short lectures and breaks. Individual coaching sessions were super helpful as well.
The atmosphere was perfect for focused writing. The motivation from the teacher, the peer pressure, and the regular breaks helped me focus on just writing. I could get so much more done than I usually would! The teacher also provided very useful tips about how to get into that flow state for writing, which really helped me to get into it motivated from the first moment. I am very happy to have attended this course!
Thank you so, so much for this week. I have been incredibly impressed by the progress, and though it was slow and my brain is absolute mush by now, I have a solid thesis structure and 7000 words where before there was nothing except a few “Post-Its” flying around my desk and lab book. The peer-feedback session with Sofia was also super helpful to guide me (and my thesis) to an even better, smoother train of thought that I can hang on to when writing gets hard again. Thank you Martina, for guiding us so skillfully and always joyfully this week. :)”
